Signing up to play Michigan Lottery Keno
In order to secure a Michigan online lottery account and start playing Keno, players will have to meet a couple criteria:
- Must be at least 18 years old — which is also the legal age to purchase lottery tickets at retail outlets
- Must hold a valid Michigan residence
In addition, anyone hoping to play for real money has to be geolocated within Michigan’s state borders.
As for the registration process itself, getting started is as simple as entering an email address and password, followed by an optional promo code. We recommend using MIBETS, which allows new players to claim 10 free plays of the popular Queen Of Diamonds online game.Players that make use of this promo code are also entitled to a generous 50% match up to $100 on their first real-money deposit.
After completing the initial registration, players will have to enter some more personal info, such as their full name, address, and the last four digits of their social security number. The latter is necessary so that the Michigan Lottery can ensure players are who they say they are, offering an unparalleled level of protection only available in legal markets.

How does Keno work?
Keno is hardly a new game, with origins in the United States dating back to the late 19th century. Yet it has stood the test of time, with electronic versions of the game residing prominently alongside slot and video poker terminals at most land-based casinos.
However, Keno is neither a slot nor VP game. Instead it’s more akin to a draw lottery game, except that it can be played at any time, with near instantaneous results.
At the onset of the game, players either choose 10 numbers at random (Quick Pick) or select their own 10 numbers from a field of 80 (numbered 1 – 80).
Then a random number generator selects 20 numbers. Players that match at least three numbers (sometimes more, sometimes less) win a prize, with the prize amount determined by the number of matches. The more matches, the better the prize, sometimesup to 25,0000x the ticket cost for matching all 10 numbers.
And that’s it. Of course, all Michigan Lottery Keno games feature their own little quirks, adding nuance that elevates the excitement level and possibly even the size of player wins.

The Michigan lottery has boldly taken Keno into the 21st century with its palette of offerings. Choose from four completely distinct games, all with their own distinctive gameplay mechanics.
Players will also be able to fully customize their gaming experience, right down to the pace of play, ticket price, number of tickets and whether they prefer selecting their own numbers or trusting their fate to the computer.
Here’s a brief overview of the games players will find online.
Instant Keno Multiplier
Instant Keno Multiplier is Michigan’s featured keno game. And for players that embrace volatility it may be the best choice.
At its core, this is about as traditional a Keno game as it gets. Players ante up between $0.25 and $20, select 10 numbers (or have the computer choose 10 via Quick Pick) and hit “Go” to get the game started. The computer then selects 20 numbers at random, which are shot out of a digital cannon one-by-one.
But there’s one nuance that separates Instant Keno Multiplier from the pack: Upon starting the game, three random numbers that the player did not choose are turned into multiplier squares. Match two of these and all won prizes are multiplied by 3x. Match all three and the prize is elevated to 10x.
In order to offset this advantage, players will have to match four of their numbers to win a prize.
The top payout for this game is a whopping 25,000x.
After the round concludes players can either stick with the same numbers or try their luck with a new hand. A turbo option is available for those looking to swiften the pace of gameplay.
Finally, in a somewhat interesting twist players can customize the amount of numbers they wish to play. The game automatically defaults to ten numbers, but anywhere from 1 – 10 is allowed. Choosing a different amount of numbers causes the pay table to adjust. This subtlety applies to all Keno games found on the Michigan online lottery site.
Bullseye Keno
Bullseye Keno is the lowest priced Keno game, with stakes ranging from $0.10 to $4 per ticket. It’s also the only game that allows players to play multiple tickets at once, up to 10 entries per round.
Before each games initiates, a multiplier will be chosen at random and all wins will be multiplied by that amount. The closer the virtual arrow lands to the bullseye the larger the multiplier, with 25x being the best players can hope for. Good news is both the 10x and 25x multiplier hit with some regularity, even if the lower multipliers of 1x, 2x, and 3x are far more common.
Make no mistake: like Instant Keno Multiplier, Bullseye Keno is also a very volatile game (with players needing to hit five out of 10 numbers to win a prize). But on the plus side the prizes do scale up in a hurry, with the game only paying 2x for players that match five numbers, but 50x for matching seven numbers, and 5,000x for matching all ten.
And this is before any multipliers are factored in. Very lucky players could win 125,000x the ticket price.
Fuzzball Keno
This more traditional Keno game is more recognizable for its cutesy and playful theme than it is for its gameplay innovations. Players can ante up anywhere between $0.10 to $20 for a ticket, and can either handpick their numbers or have them chosen at random.
Then it’s off to the races, with players needing to match just three numbers to win their money back. The prizes cap out at 10,000x and there is no multiplier, making this a somewhat less volatile game.
One interesting component of Fuzzball Keno is that it incorporates a “losers” prize, whereby players that don’t match any of their numbers are awarded a consolation prize of 2x their ticket price.
Instant Keno
Instant Keno and Fuzzball Keno play nearly identically, with the only real structural difference being the pay table.
As is the case with Fuzzball Keno, players that match three numbers get their money back. However, Instant Keno pays out more to players who only match four or five numbers, while Fuzzball Keno pays out a bit more to lucky players who match six or seven numbers.
Otherwise this is the same game in a different dressing, with Instant Keno opting for a more techy, minimalist feel. Ticket costs range from $0.10 to $20 and there are three speed options.
Michigan Lottery Club Keno 2024
Club Keno is a popular offering from the Michigan Lottery that is not found in a lot of other states. This draw game attracts plenty of attention as it puts some huge prizes up for grabs. Players just need to place a relatively small stake and try to predict the numbers that are going to be drawn out.
Naturally, the more Club Keno numbers that a player matches, the better the prize will be. You can take part in Club Keno for just $1 per ticket. Currently, you can only partake in Club Keno if you go to a participating retailer and purchase a ticket.
There are different types of tickets that you can buy, with each type having its own set of numbers that you will choose from. There are also three different bonus features as part of the MI Lottery Club Keno offering. You will be able to buy into these extra features if you wish, with each one carrying its own additional prizes.
Club Keno Drawing
Each Club Keno live drawing will take place within a few minutes of each other, seven days a week, so there is always plenty of action. You can watch the Club Keno drawings while at the participating retailer or you can do so through the Michigan Lottery app or website.
In terms of the payouts for Club Keno drawings, it will depend on the specific type of Club Keno that you are playing. For the 10 Spot game, if you successfully match all 10 numbers, you will get a $100,000 prize if you have a $1 ticket. You can see the exact payouts and odds of winning on the Michigan Lottery Club Keno web page.
