In Loving Memory: Jacquline Angle's Obituary (2)

Jacquline Sue Childs Angle found herself in the arms of the Lord at 10:30 am on June 13, 2024 after a long battle with her health.

Jacquie was born in Austin, Texas on October 3, 1957. Her father, James Ferrell Childs, was briefly stationed there. Luckily, her mother, Louise, was able to move closer to home after James’ deployment to Guam and they briefly lived with Jacquie’s Aunt Ruth and cousins. She was so close in age with her two cousins it may have seemed a little chaotic at times, but the three grew up as siblings.Jacquie soon moved to Mobile with her parents. She met her long-time friend, Michelle, and the two of them spent their summers riding bikes all over town. As they grew up, they attended Davidson High School. She is a proud Warrior graduate of 1975. She was a member of the Flag Corp and made the flags herself using shower curtain rods as the poles. She admits they were quite heavy, but she was incredibly proud to have made something that was needed and admired at the same time. After high school, she attended the University of Alabama and then transferred to the University of Montevallo. She became a sister of Alpha Delta Pi and has stayed in contact with several of her sisters over the years. She majored in art and used the skills she learned in all different mediums in her future. She always had an eye for what was beautiful. After college, she worked for a while with her parents at “Jacquie’s”, a jewelry store in Bel-air Mall. Jacquie and Ray met out dancing one night. After his second request to dance, she finally said yes, and the rest is history. They were married on September 9, 1983. Together they had two children, Ashley born in 1985 and Austin born in 1988.Jacquie was a stay-at-home mom while her children were very young. She was involved in their after-school activities and alternated “room mom” responsibilities with her counterpart and friend, Penny. After a few years, she felt God pulling on her heart to become a nurse. First, she became an LPN, but she quickly continued her education to attain her RN. She worked as an RN at Mobile Infirmary for more than 25 years. She had profound fulfillment in knowing she was helping someone in any sort of capacity.Jacquie was not always business. She found pleasure in creating things. For more than 20 years, she created Azalea Trail dress after dress. She was incredibly talented, but more than that, she loved the relationships she had with the girls and their mothers. She was a member of the local Smocking Arts Guild Association where she honed her skills in French Heirloom sewing. She also dabbled in pottery and ceramics every so often. There wasn’t much she couldn’t figure out, and when a local knitting store opened, she and her daughter took classes together to learn to knit. She joined a women’s mystic society where she had so many wonderful women she cared for and loved on. She was very involved and loved serving the organization for a long time and only recently became an honorary member. She was giving to a fault. If you liked it or wanted it, she was going to figure out a way to give you. It was evident in all things she did.Jacquie embraced her father, James, as soon as she arrived in heaven. She was also greeted by her grandparents and other family members. She is survived by her mother, Louise Thompson Childs; her husband of 40 years, Raymond Angle; her daughter Ashley Haney (Scott) and granddaughter Palmer Louise (3); her son Austin Angle (Karyn). Her aunts, uncles, cousins, and devoted friends will miss her dearly until they meet again. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, therapists, and nursing assistances in all the units that assisted in her in care at Mobile Infirmary in the MICU, 3NE, Rotary and SICU.
